Newbie Question
« on: August 02, 2012, 06:06:36 PM »
Hi everyone! I have what I hope will be an easy question: I've been using TGPX and have been pretty happy with the results, however- I want to make a category continue from one page to another. I just can't seem to figure out how to change the parameters of the category on page two to get it to "pick up" where the first page left off.

(i.e; page one has pictures 1-40, page two should have 41-80. what I keep getting is page one has 1-40 and page 2 has 1-40)

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! -Lily

I suppose the most direct method of accomplishing this would be to set the global-dupes value to false at the top of your page template, like this:
{define name=globaldupes value=false}

This will take the galleries out of rotation so that the next page will be, by default, built from remaining galleries.

You can also use this function in the galleries directive:

There may be other methods. I'll have to look into it.

having the same problem, did it worked? cause I was thinking of doing that:
I was thinking to redo a new categorie ( like categoriex2)when i reached the maximun amount i wanted on my first page(page using the original categoriex) and then just build the page with the new categorie, the only trouble is that I will have to replace the original page by the new one like that the oldest page( the original categoriex) gets on page 2... and the new updates will be on the first page (using the  categoriex2).
Not sure if thats clear, and maybe complicated if your solution above did work, would be really cool if you could let me know, thanks a lot
