« on: April 23, 2015, 04:28:13 AM »
Hello. I have used TradeX for a long time. But, it does have its' problems. I would like to suggest to the users of TradeX a very good alternative trade script that I have been using for a while now and I really do like it. It has support and updates too!

TubeX Discussion / TubeX V2 Upgrade - READ
« on: April 14, 2015, 05:16:53 AM »
Hello fellow TubeX lovers!

I am inquiring to you all about the good possibility of having TubeX re-built, or upgraded, by an experienced programmer. I have found someone that may be interested in doing this if there are enough TubeX users that would purchase this upgrade.

The upgrade would not change any functions of the TubeX as is available here:

The upgrade will bring TubeX up to date with full mobility usage including:
  • Re-working the CSS to bring it up to date with CSS3
  • Convert all code and templates to HTML5
  • Update it to the latest PHP
  • Full Mobile Capabilities
  • Front and Back-End re-coding
  • Responsive Template(s)
  • Known Bug Fixes Like the register process
  • And anything else I am probably forgetting to list right now

If you can think of anything to add to the list please do. But please keep in mind we are not trying to change any functions of TubeX.

In my opinion, all the options and functions TubeX provides are superb as it is. Its ease of use with the built in template editor and overall simplicity of customizing and adding your own templates are outstanding as is. I will never figure out why Jeremy (JMB) decided to stop development and updates of TubeX when it was just getting really good.

I have been looking for someone to re-program/upgrade TubeX for over a year. I cannot afford to pay a programmer for this upgrade myself. I have exhausted my budget already with one programmer that said he could do it (paid, but it never happened) and by buying a different Tube Script. AVS 3,1 doesn't have nothing on TubeX except for the full mobile capabilities and responsiveness.

Anyway, We need support for TubeX V2 to happen! If you are interested and wanting this to happen. Please post something in this thread to let the programmer know there is interest ... Which, I know that there is!!

Please respond to this thread if you are interested or wish to list some other needed upgrade to TubeX.

*Please note: This would be available as an upgrade patch. You would need to install the free version first, then purchase the V2 upgrade.

Thank you!

Good to know someone out there is also working on it! I could not agree more.

I have also inquired about a fix for the current TradeX from github.

Code: [Select]
A fatal error has occurred: unpack(): Type L: not enough input, need 4, have 0 in /var/www/ on 186

This is the /tx/lib/.htaccess ( as installed from github 2 days ago)

Code: [Select]
deny from all

This is the area of /tx/lib/stats.php on line 186:

Code: [Select]

    foreach( $trades as $trade )
        $domain = $trade['domain'];
        $file = $directory . '/' . $domain;

        $rt24 = array_fill(1, STATS_PER_RECORD, 0);
        $fp = fopen($file, 'r');
        for( $i = 0; $i < HOURS_PER_DAY; $i++ )
*LINE 186>>>            $r = unpack('L' . STATS_PER_RECORD, fread($fp, RECORD_SIZE_STATS));
            foreach( $r as $j => $k )
                $rt24[$j] += $k;

        $rt60 = array_fill(1, STATS_PER_RECORD, 0);
        fseek($fp, $minute_offset, SEEK_CUR);
        for( $i = 0; $i < MINUTES_PER_HOUR; $i++ )
            $r = unpack('L' . STATS_PER_RECORD, fread($fp, RECORD_SIZE_STATS));
            foreach( $r as $j => $k )
                $rt60[$j] += $k;

            // Wrap around midnight with a seek
            if( ftell($fp) == $end_of_file )
                fseek($fp, HOURS_PER_DAY * RECORD_SIZE_STATS, SEEK_SET);

Yeah, they are there to enhance some security concerns - but they dont really do a lot without the prescence of the ORDER directive.
Google 'Apache ORDER, DENY, ALLOW directives' for more info.

Access control by host

If you wish to restrict access to portions of your site based on the host address of your visitors, this is most easily done using mod_authz_host.

The Allow and Deny directives let you allow and deny access based on the host name, or host address, of the machine requesting a document. The Order directive goes hand-in-hand with these two, and tells Apache in which order to apply the filters.

The usage of these directives is:

Allow from address

where address is an IP address (or a partial IP address) or a fully qualified domain name (or a partial domain name); you may provide multiple addresses or domain names, if desired.

For example, if you have someone spamming your message board, and you want to keep them out, you could do the following:

Deny from

Visitors coming from that address will not be able to see the content covered by this directive. If, instead, you have a machine name, rather than an IP address, you can use that.

Deny from

And, if you'd like to block access from an entire domain, you can specify just part of an address or domain name:

Deny from 192.168.205
Deny from moreidiots.example
Deny from ke

Using Order will let you be sure that you are actually restricting things to the group that you want to let in, by combining a Deny and an Allow directive:

Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Allow from

Listing just the Allow directive would not do what you want, because it will let folks from that host in, in addition to letting everyone in. What you want is to let only those folks in.

Ya ... I am getting this error as well. I dont see any extra .htaccess files. But I do see these files:

Those look out of place. I have not added any trades. I just installed it and see that error:
Code: [Select]
A fatal error has occurred: unpack(): Type L: not enough input, need 4, have 0 in /var/www/ on 186

Any help please?

I'm still here but overall it is pretty dead. I'm actually working on a making a new theme I will release it if I ever finish it but i'm not a developer and don't know much html/css, but I'm gonna try cause default themes are so ugly.

Perhaps if we can get something going with some upgrades to TubeX this forum will be used more.

I have made a couple different custom templates with different custom functions. But basically use the same template, the adult blue re-write is my preference to work with. I am trying to make a new one at this time on a new site that is a bit more different, but still uses the blue re-write tpl set. I'd like to set up a WIDE page but that is proving difficult right now.

I used/use TGPX and would like to try Tubex.

Am I right in thinking I can download it here and try it?

Secondly, is it capable of letting me play movies and images that are hosted by the sponsor? Also, sponsors embeds?

I don't have any templates for the main page or individual video pages. Are there any I can find to get started?

Yes you can download it from

Yes you can play hosted movies (hotlink) from sponsor. Not sure how you play images, tho. However, I believe there is a way you could set up the player area to use a TGPX template for the corresponding sponsor videos for their image galleries. I have not tried this yet tho. I am still thinking about it.

It comes with 6 separate templates to choose from to get started. They're all customizable through the template system. It's very similar to TGPX.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I've already tried that and a few other things and nothing I've tried works. It still directs to the error/warning the required field needing to be filled in even if it is not on the page. My registration page is not broken tho. Except for the captcha graphic. It will only work sometimes correctly and most of the time it wont load. I've always had that problem with it.

For a subscription page like that I would think you would have to tie-in together the users database from tubex and let it work with the third-party paid subscription username / info db service. It would have to write the info into tubex user database. I do believe. Also, you may need some custom php scripting to make that happen.

Things like this could be called TubeX Plugins. And if some smart coding person out there made such a thing it could be sold for their profit. Just like making an upgrade to a mobile version. People would buy it. If it were stable and solid of course.

If your registration page is broken. I would try to use the default tpl file and just replace the code with the default. And hopefully that would fix your register page issue for now.

TubeX Discussion / Interesting Admin Graphic Memo
« on: February 16, 2014, 10:12:50 AM »
Well I found this interesting and thought I would share here with tubex lovers. :)

I was sick of looking at the admin area green header graphics. So I changed them.

Well.. come to find out you cannot change the TubeX graphic (located here: /admin/images/tubex-174x41.png), if you do, it will spit out this error code on your pages:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /var/www/ : eval()'d code on line 1

Took me about two days to figure this out. It is somehow tied in with the %%poweredby%% as well.

classes/Template.php code (at bottom) that apparently invokes this:
Code: [Select]
if( ($_fp_in = fopen(BASE_DIR . base64_decode('L2FkbWluL2lfYWdlcy90dWJlbC0xNzR4NDEucG5n'), 'rb')) !== false )
    fseek($_fp_in, 8, SEEK_SET);
    while( !feof($_fp_in) )
        $chunk = fread($_fp_in, 4);

        if( feof($_fp_in) )

        $length = unpack('Ni', $chunk);
        $chunk = fread($_fp_in, 4);

        if( $chunk == "\x74\x65\x58\x74" )
            $data = substr(fread($_fp_in, $length['i']), 5);

        $seek = fseek($_fp_in, $length['i'] + 4, SEEK_CUR);

I am using a paid for version that I also paid for to have the Powered By removed directly from jmbsoft.

Does the current free download on github have this same issue?
